Some upgrades and add-ons

I added the Armageddon headlight upgrade and the pannier bags when I purchased Bia and I am so glad that I did. At 1500 lumens it lights a wide swath - i feel really good about getting a few kms in after work (afternoon shift so out usually after midnight) and not running into trouble with potholes.

After Bia and I started to get to know each other, I knew I really needed a mirror which I found on Amazon; not the best, but it gives me wide, clear view and it was easy to attach, adjust and it stays put. I wasn't happy with the controller which did not display the voltage % of the battery remaining so I read through posts in my Facebook groups as well as Reddit. the 500c Bafang controller was my choice which I bought from Electrify Bike Company It boasts a colour display as well as voltage/wattage being consumed. The trip meter can be reset which is super useful to see how much distance  Iam getting between charges because frankly I am shit at keeping track of that sort of thing. My daughter bought me a usb chargeable horn which has four equally irritating but effective sounds. I went back to the Biktrix site to upgrade my handle bars to the A bars for two reasons - I was looking for a more upright sitting position and I knew I was going to want more room for gadgets. Again, it was an easy addition, swapping out the bars took less time than all of the micro-adjustments to get everything feeling comfy again. I am still waiting on the cork grips and a gopro, which is fine, it will give me something to chat about next week. Hopefully.

My bike seat, which I took from my old pedal bike, is easy on my arse and I have no recollection of where it was purchased. The phone holder is an inexpensive one that does the job for me, but when the terrain gets rough it is not that stable. I am reasonably certain that it was an Amazon buy, again when I was using my pedal bike, but I am not positive. I am not including a link because I don't love it and will replace it with something waterproof and more stable in days to come.
The rubber duckie is a direct result of peer pressure. I accidentally bought a car one instead of a bike one, but she is still bad looking. No, really.

If I have learned nothing else I have learned patience. Bike parts are not just a massive wait time, on top of the already lengthy shipping times. This is tricky because I really like doing research but I have lost out on products at a good price because I didn't pull the trigger soon enough.

In my next post we are going to start the game "Where was Daphné today?" in which i post vague pictures and hopefully you will play along. I live in Hanover so for for the most part, it will be within about a 30 km range, but as I increase my fitness level I will be going farther and hopefully finding whimsical and fun locations to shoot from.

Later Days!
